Glass domes rank among the greatest challenges in modern glass architecture. This makes successful examples – such as the glass dome in the CityPlaza – all the more remarkable. This vibrant hub in the heart of the Swabian city of Stuttgart is stabilized by the BESISTA® tension bar system.
The filigree BESISTA® tension bars and fork heads are made of top-grade spheroidal graphite cast iron and provide an optimum balance between load-carrying capacity, efficiency and aesthetic appeal.

The sustainable, resource-saving glass and facade architecture achieves two effects with playful ease. On the one hand, the BESISTA® tension bar systems serve to stabilize the construction. On the other hand, the filigree system components are almost weightlessly integrated into the overall structure. This leaves ample room for the most natural and sustainable source of light there is – our sun.
