The alterations to the Estadio de Bata, the largest stadium in the African country of Equatorial Guinea, were completed bang on time for the start of the 2012 African Cup of Nations. The scheme incorporated some 1,800 BESISTA® tension rod systems, which were used for all stabilizing and bracing assemblies. Situated near to the coast, the stadium now provides covered accommodation for over 35,000 spectators. Apart from the football pitch, the venue also includes track-and-field facilities, an indoor pool and a hotel.

The installed tension rod systems were supplied directly by manufacturer BESISTA® without any intermediate agents. The company’s early involvement in the design and dimensioning of the steel construction, backed by the provision of drawings, technical data and the technical approval, helped to optimize the use and cost effectiveness of the BESISTA® rod systems.

Direct communication with the design team eliminated the risk of errors and misunderstandings while cutting the delivery times for the hot-dip galvanized BESISTA® tension rod systems. Efficiency was further boosted by BESISTA®‘s useful packaging concept: the installation instructions enclosed in various languages in each package ensured maximum safety during the assembly process.
