The number of visitors to the Skywalk Scheidegg has far exceeded expectations. The award-winning attraction, particularly well-frequented by families, is located in the Allgäu region of Germany, near the border to Switzerland and Austria. Extending over a total length of 540 metres, the 35 metre-high treetop walkway offers a unique experience of nature together with a fantastic panorama reaching as far as Lake Constance and the Alps.

The BESISTA® 540 tension bar system assumed a variety of stiffening, suspension, staying and wind bracing functions for the towers and walkways. The exposed site was a challenge not only for the steel construction, but also for the BESISTA® tension rods with cover sleeves, cross anchors, extension sleeves and tensioning sleeves.

The durable zinc coat on the threads of the hot-dip galvanized tension bars is a unique speciality of the BESISTA® tension bar systems. Given the extreme location of the steelwork structure, this quality feature was a key factor in persuading the client and designers to opt for the BESISTA® tension bar system.
